Dr. Kirchner graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1977, and founded EyeCare Specialties. He is Past President of the Nebraska Optometric Association, Past President of the North Central States Optometric Council, member of the American Optometric Association. He was chosen as Optometrist of the Year in 1996 by the Nebraska Optometric Association. Locally he serves on the Lincoln Public Schools Medical Advisory Committee, and is a board member of the Lincoln Crisis Pregnancy Center. He is a member of the First Evangelical Free Church . Dr. Kirchner is married and has two children
