  • Insurance Specialist, Lincoln

    Job Purpose:

    Being the first and last personality the patient has interaction with it is the responsibility of an Insurance Specialist teammate to make the patient feel welcome and valued.  Their main responsibility will be verification and entry of patient information & demographics, filing insurance claims, communicating with the patient and their insurance company as needed.  In addition this teammate will be responsible for maintaining working knowledge of all participating insurance plans in order to effectively carryout accurate payment posting to the patients account.

     

    Duties:

    • Needs to be able to accurately prepare a patient record for their visit by getting them checked in, attaining appropriate signatures, verifying their demographics, scanning their insurance card, documenting referral source, all in a concise and timely manner
    • Maintain productivity during down time by working on projects such as
      • Pulling doctors schedules no more than 2 days in advance.
      • Perform a mid-day balance inquiry
      • File insurance
      • Updating the schedules as needed
      • Concluding the patients visit will entail allocating balances to insurance as needed, collecting payment, starting the claim (for group/medical insurance only) and noting any needed documentation in a concise and timely manner.
      • All effort should be given to maintain a clean workspace at all times.
      • End of day activities should include reconciling the cash, balancing their drawer, closing the credit card machine

     

    Scheduling Requirements:

    • 3 Saturdays a month, 1 evening per week
    • Regular and punctual attendance is an essential job function for this position
